Review

In the nineteenth century and indeed the twentieth, the docks in Derry was the source of much of the wealth of the city. Each area on the wharf’s became known by the name of the commodity that was off-loaded there. Timber Quay - Restaurant & Wine Bar, Derry is situated on a site where in years gone by, timber was imported to the Derry Quays in order to make wine & whiskey barrels, hence the name 'timberquay'. The site has now been completely regenerated, making way for restaurants, apartments and shops, and breathing new life into the docklands.
Timber Quay - Restaurant & Wine Bar boasts some of the finest cuisine in Derry. The décor is modern and stylish and creates a relaxed atmosphere for you to enjoy your meal.
The restaurant has a large seating capacity and do cater for large groups, be it birthday party or a business lunch. The stylish bar has an extensive range of wines to choose from plus a large selection of bottled and draught beers and an array of liquors.
Enjoy a light lunch or just a coffee while relaxing in the outside seating area and take in the breathtaking views of the River Foyle and Derry City. Peter Mansfield recently visited for Taste of Ireland, and his full review will follow shortly.

Since enjoying a transformation back in March, One Pico is packing them in for what is probably the best value lunch in the City, with two courses on offer for €19.95 and Three for €25. The decor is fab, food brilliant and the value truly surprising. Don't miss it, this can't last forever.
We love Seargrass in Portobello. Sean is one of the city's most talented chefs and is constantly coming up with new dishes and tastes to tantilize. Well now he has done it again with the new Platai Bia menu.
This is one of the best deals we have come across, not least because the items on the menu are not what you expect on a cut price menu - duck, rack of lamb and good fish dishes all appear. Telephone +353 (0) 41 9835410 or e mail info@scholarshotel.com.
